A 60 YEAR FIGHT WITH ALMOST NO RESULTS

The year of 1953 meant a lot to Mexican women because it was the first time they could get the right to vote and be voted for the federal elections even though we had gotten almost no results. Or you tell me, how many women have the right of having govern places ?

I will make easier the thinking process of the answer for you. In our legislature the 30% of the seats are occupied by women.

There have been only 4 elected governors in our country. Which is a pathetic number taking in consideration that the first was in 1979. Even though it is embarrassing to think that out of these 3 are nieces or daughters or aunt of politicians that made their campaigns easier. 

It is an interesting fact that the third biggest and most powerful city in our country; Monterrey is being governed by a woman. She is only 35 years old, has a degree and 3 daughters but all that are just part of her daily life as Mayor of one of the most important cities in the world !

Aguascalientes and Leon are examples of woman that are considered the top of the city. But not only in politics we can see that the fight for equality that began 60 years ago is almost invisible, the rural live of the country is highly dominated by the patriarchy

The cities tend to be a better place for women to achieve equality. Nowadays we have brave girls that want to be lawyers, engineers, architects, doctors, economists or even presidents. Equality begins in the home. It is a fact that Mexico has been performing terribly in this topic but as we all work together the true gender equality will be achieved because it is not only for women. 

Men also then to be discriminated when they want to be Preschool teachers, nutritionist, nurses or other fields like fashion that tend to be a matriarchy .

Stop discriminating and accept that gender equality will be only stopped when both genders work together for the same goal.
